A pub restaurant with accommodation that felt like a clean, contemporary-style pub. Two rooms, with wooden floors, leather chairs and soft upholstered benches, cream and plum painted walls and a small brick inglenook fireplace at one end. There was some acoustic guitar background music being played on CD which complemented the surroundings. Besides the usual tap beer there was Pedigree, RCH Pitchfork, Bass Premium Bitter and Doom Bar on cask. There was also a choice of cake on the bar. I usually prefer the more traditional pub but I felt quite comfortable in here. We ate a good lunch between us of rustic bread with olive oil and dips served on a wooden board followed by cajun chicken breast burger and tex mex burger, served by a pleasant and helpful young lady. The clientele was a from a wide age range. It's a good place to take the missus out for a meal.
