It wouldn't have seemed right had I been the only member of the PuG crawl team not to have found time to visit this superb pub, and luckily I found time to fit in a swift one while waiting for a train to London on the Sunday. As station bars go, this one is easily the best that I've ever visited. As the building started life over 100 years ago as tearooms it's good to see it back satisfying the thirsty needs of rail travellers. It's been well described by previous reviewers. A building of superb grandeur; comfortable seating; more great beers than you can shake a stick at - it definitely ticks all the boxes. Well worth making the time to visit.

A perfect place to start and finish a York pub crawl, walk straight off the platform into it, large enough to handle a steady stream of thirsty punters and probably the best range of beer in York to satisfy all tastes.One not to miss.
