Sheppey Inn, Wells

As described by Blackthorn, this fantastic country pub has not only survived but thrived (thriven?) through the COVID-constrained Summer. The furniture has been spread around, and the majority of the interior is occupied by tables and chairs for diners, although various eclectic clutter – including a stuffed sheep – is scattered around. There are also tables and chairs on the veranda. It’s now so popular that you have to book to eat or you won’t get a table. The staff were friendly and helpful, the landlady very welcoming and pleasant. The diners, children included, were civilised and appreciative of the location and service. Ales on were 12 Apostles, Dawkin’s Special IPA and Twisted’s Gaucho. Ales were in excellent condition, but they were 25% more expensive than they should be for a freehouse in this area. The best pub I’ve yet found in the Glastonbury area and one to which I shall return.

Great pub on the levels with loads of ciders, ales and Belgium beers! They do some great takes on pub food with a twist! And great live music nearly every night! You can sit next to the river Sheppey and see Glastonbury tor in the distance .cool mixed crowd for the food and music or to just chill out!
