Shepherds Call, Hyde

This is a very neat pub, both inside and out. There's some great tiling on the outside still in Greenhalls livery and signage. Luckily it's moved on from those dark days. Once inside, there's a small area to the right facing the bar and a larger area to the left with copper topped tables, all with flowers on them. The seating is mainly red bankquettes around the outside of the room and there's a very good looking carpet. I'm guessing the pub has been refubished sometime fairly recently. There's a further room at the rear (not visited) with a pool table & dartboard. 2 beers available on the bar, Moorhouse's Premier which is the regular beer, plus Old Speckled Hen as a guest. The Premier was in good condition. Quite a few people in on my Friday early evening visit with plenty of banter going on between the locals. It's a good pub for anywhere and a very good pub for Hyde.

The Shepherds Call has got a nice tiled front,once inside the pub was fairly basic i had a drink in the bar which was very busy. When i visited this pub it was a Greenalls tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Greenalls bitter which was ok but nothing special the other beer was Greenalls mild. I quite like pubs like this and i was happy enough having a drink in here. Pub visited 9/12/1994
