This is now part of the Royal Oak Horfield/Cross Hands Fishponds chain after a visit today since reopening. The place has been opened up and lost some of it's character since my last visit which I've enjoyed since my student days many moons ago. It is now essentially a large open plan area following the central bar around the building. There were a number of real ales on but didn't notice real cider that is a feature of my local The Royal Oak. To the right on entry off the Woolcot Street entrance there is a partially exposed/open kitchen area with a feature brick wall. As per other pubs there is the inevitable green paint on lower paneled wall sections. Flooring and exposed tiles on entry remains intact from memory. Despite losing some of it's character from the refurbishment I sense the new direction and food offerings will make it a very popular destination within Redland for locals and those that would ass some of the other delightful pubs in this suburb.
