The Chevalier Inn (Lloyds No.1), Exeter

A long thin pub which is a bit too hot and a bit over-priced. The atmosphere is a bit like a chip shop with dining in facilites, there is a strong smell of chips and vinegar. It is however efficiently staffed. The decor is modern with stripped pine in a cafe like-setting, that is to say there are brown plastic Sarsons vinegar bottles and brown place mats at every table. Customers generally drink mass produced lager or smooth while waiting for their Fish'N'Chips. Cask ales from Courage, John Smiths and, fortunately, Daleside, as well as a wide range of keg beers.

This pub is now a Lloyds No1 Bar (J D Wetherspoon) pub, having changed hands on 24 July 2009, and has been renamed 'The Chevalier Inn' [edit: actioned 15/10/09]
