The Woodlands, Carnforth

Popped in here out of curiosity after walking across Morecambe Bay (which this pub on a steep hill overlooks) as it was listed in the 2010 GBG. Converted from a large country house, it’s a huge building with a number of interior rooms. The bar area was had a large fire and TV though was nothing special décor-wise. Four ales were available – all of which I’d never heard of and two of them were badly kept, one was vinegar and the other was damp cardboard. Trying to get them exchanged was a bit of a song and dance. I was really disappointed with this one, expected much better.
