Slug and Lettuce, Nottingham

This pub has always been a Yates'wine lodge but when i first went i here it was called the Talbot. The pub is situated just of the market square and it is opposite the Bell Inn. Once inside there is one long largish room and the bar is to the right,there is bench seating on the opposite wall to the bar and this is divided into bays there are small tables and chairs in the middle of the room and strangly tall tables and chairs close to the bar. There is also an upstairs balcony which overlooks most of the room. The room has got a very high ceiling with a skylight roof,the room has got an old feeling to it but this is spoilt slightly by the large ball thing that hangs from the ceiling at the far end of the pub. There were two real ales on the bar and i had a drink of Yates best bitter and this tasted of nothing,it might as well been coloured water,the other beer was Marstons Ugly Sisters. The pub is always busy with a good mixture of customers but be warned this pub is'nt for the feint hearted. Pub visited 21/12/2011 Photo taken 28/9/2010
