Tucked away in the back corner of the Tower Buildings next to the histroric St Nicholas’ church it is best reached from stairs leading up from St Georges Dock Gates opposite the Liver Building. Stepping down into the small bar after negotiating the smokers around the outside tables, the counter is to one side with a cluster of tall perching tables and stools with a wide windowsill also providing somewhere to rest your drinks. To the left up a couple of stairs is a dining room with a big screen. The formerly open staircase at the back of the bar has been roofed over and provides space for 4, MacD's or Burger King style tables and seats and another big screen. Three T Bars and three handpumps provide the drinks, usual kegs plus a couple of well kept guests from Sharps in Cornwall, Youngs Special and Boddingtons, that is one more pump clip than pumps. The large glazed mural that used to hang on the staircase has been moved to a side wall but sadly is partially hidden by a table. As the name suggests it sells oysters at £4.95 for four or £12.95 a dozen, as well as other seafood and more usual pub fare. Apart from the lager drinking smokers it is also popular with suits from nearby offices and the odd tourist who happens across it.
