The Crown, Hawes

The beers were all Theakstons when I was here: Old Peculier, Best Bitter, XB and Lightfoot, spread between two banks of hand pumps, four in the front room and three around the corner. It was fairly lively at the time of my late Sunday afternoon visit, which I imagine must be a busy day for all the pubs here. I went for the OP, although my 10 mile cycle ride from Ribblehead hardly justified my selection in terms of replenishment of energy expended. By way of punishment for my audacity, this was not by any means the best half of this fine beer that I've sampled this year. Not bad enough to put me off coming back next year, mind.

Called in on the 5th of May had 2 very good pints of Timmy Taylor's landlord the pub was busy for food at dinner time it was a very hot day and a lot of visitors in the area that had been round the Cheese factory which is also worth a visit. The food looked good and the pub was clean so what more do you want will call back when in the area
