I came here on two midweek afternoons while they had a beer festival on. A good selection of local and further afield beers including a nice chocolate stout and a lovely 6% dark mild. Quiet and peaceful during the day. Helpful knowledgeable staff. Would certainly visit again.

Whilst not exactly an oasis of calm, this place does at least feel like a bit of respite after navigating the last hours of Pompeii on Wind Street on a Saturday night. Three levels though we only explored the ground floor which is long and thin with the room effectively divided into three. It has a very traditional feel with red and cream colours, varnish wood floor, beautiful dark wood display cabinets and lovely old windows. Four interesting ales on; Cheddar Hardrock (NBSS 3), Gower Gold, Ramsbury Mango and another I forgot to note. Whilst being pretty noisy on a Saturday night I’d be inclined to come back again at a quieter time.
