The Bow Bar, Edinburgh

A regular haunt of mine when I worked in Edinburgh, I'm glad to see that nothing much has changed. The emphasis here is very much on vertical drinking as there aren't many seating options. The walls of the single room are full of brewery memorabilia. Eight cask ales, some served using the Scottish air dispense fonts. Always in good nick in the past and no different on this latest visit. It can get very busy with tourists on their way to the nearby Grassmarket though, so time your visit to avoid them.

One of my favourites (of many) in Edinburgh. Unchanged, so little to add to previous reviews. Normally a centre of refinement but just to keep my on my toes, there was an altercation tonight. Old style pub with a wooden floored interior and brewery memorabilia on the walls. 8 real ales and 4 keg ales plus an extensive malt whisky selection. Tucked away on Victoria street but well worth seeking out.
