The Auchmill Inn, Aberdeen

This pub is now closed. It was closed after the owner, Harry Halkett, made it 'No Smoking' before the ban was in force and the custom vanished. It is now a coffee shop.

This pub is now closed. It closed early April 2006 after the Smoking Ban came in. Owner said that since 95% of his customers smoked and he could not afford to lose 95% of customers. Did he think that they only came to the pub to smoke? Surely they came to drink with their mates, play pool, escape from the wife etc. A feeble excuse, and I think that is what it was - he wanted to close the pub!
