The Woodcolliers, Bewdley

An irregular shaped cream rendered corner pub, with small patio. In the GBG 2010. Also does B&B accommodation and proper food! The pub has four areas; a lounge, a bar and two small dining rooms (one with a dart board in - though i assume the diners move out!). The decor is white artes with wall and ceiling beams. We went in the lounge, where there was a nice brick fire, dried flowers on the ceiling, lots of old photographs, copius amounts of jugs and tankards handing down and brass ephemera - in essence, a real traditional place. The bar had a wood floor and the same ephemera, plus an old bottle collection. The service was really friendly, we had a good chat to the owner. The cientele were a few diners and a couple of locals. There was no music or TV. Beer; tap stuff, with Hardy's and Hanson's MILD - cold as it ever is, but still nice, along with Kinver Edge Crystal, Ruddles Country and a nice Woodcollier's Bitter (brewed in conjunction with Ludlow Brewery) on handpull. Class - the best of the three GBG pubs we did in Bewdley. I look forward to the day of return!
