Friendly canalside pub that features in the 2019 Good Beer Guide. Good ale selection today. Hook Norton crafty series Sundial, Arkells Spring Hopper, Wadworth Burnt Orange IPA and Elgoods Saturday night Beaver along with their regular Greene King Abbot and Wye Valley HPA beers. Beer garden through the pub, and canal seating served with plastic glasses .

I now use the pub almost every Friday lunchtime having avoided it for many years after it became a Holt, Plant & Deacon house (minimal menu, poor food, obscene prices and run of the mill ales). They now offer a choice of 6 real ales, all well kept, and have a good menu with competitively priced options. With friendly staff and customers it is a rare jewel amongst the many often rough squirt houses in Tipton. It tends to be rather rammed late in September when they hold a beer festival to coincide with the very popular Canal and Community Festival but bith are well worth a visit.
