Traditional-looking food-led pub set back from the busy main road so the outdoor seating on the front patio terrace isn't badly affected by traffic. However, the much-extended interior has been comprehensively refurbished in a light semi-modern style. Various seating / dining areas around the 'L'-shaped bar, with more of a restaurant further back. Two of three handpumps in use, offering Charles Wells Eagle IPA and (thankfully, in the circumstances) Wainwright (£3.95).

The White Horse is a large roadside pub that is situated at the southern end of Balasll Common. Once inside there is a large single L shaped room with the bar facing,the seating is bench type and tall tables and chairs,the room is bare boarded,there is a separate dining room to the rear. The pub is a Charles Well tied house,i had a drink of Eagle bitter which was a decent drink,i failed to note other beers on the bar. Quiet background music was playing and food is available. Not really my sort of pub but it had a decent drink and drinkers are made welcome. Pub visited 18/4/2015
