The Red Lion, Shipston-On-Stour

Handsome, solid traditional pub that's more down to earth than the Howard Arms but a Sunday lunch does run to £22. We'd booked, although that seemed unnecessary, with only two other punters and maybe a couple more who came during our visit to sit outside on the front patio. Two roomer, both with roaring fires. Look out for the signed wall by Ian McCulloch. Still trying to determine the story there :-) Four real ales on from Hook Norton (Tied House) - made me concerned about turnover with lack of punters but no complaints from my Old Hooky. Food - was really excellent.
