The Dolphin Inn, Tynemouth, North Shields

Located some way out of town, the Dolphin last appeared in the Good Beer Guide back in 2003. Nevertheless, they still stock Tetley's Cask alongside a couple of guests. On my Thursday afternoon visit, they had Timothy Taylor Landlord & Cullercoats Lovely Nelly. Service was a little on the slow side. But I couldn't fault my swift half of the Lovely Nelly and a CAMRA discount is offered. There were around 3 or 4 other customers who had all just finished their lunches. I opted for a pack of crisps instead to keep me going! A music channel was playing on the pub's TV, which sits over the fireplace.
