A nice solid and largish building at the south end of the village, in the Upham Inns group and therefore slightly upmarket. The interior has been much modernised, with a stripped back feel helped by the reclaimed wood wall coverings and general lack of decorative junk. The two areas either side of the central entrance and the larger room at the back did not seem very different, and all boasted large modern square wood tables giving a rather regimented and chunky effect. To one side is a matching large modern square wood counter for the hotel side of the business, while there is a large terraced garden to the rear. On handpump were a very well-kept Loxhill Biscuit from the nearby Crafty Brewing Company, plus London Pride, and the menu suggested other breweries such as Dark Star and Black Sheep might also feature. Food seemed popular.
