Sextons at Hampton Court, Hampton Court, East Molesey

This is a Shepherd Neame pub – with Spitfire, Earlybird, and something called Dragonfire on. I guess Dragonfire must be a seasonal ale - St George’s Day and all that – but it tasted OK, and cost £3.20 a pint. This is a very basic pub with nothing special about it. As you enter you are in the main bar area, which is mainly bare-boarded but has a couple of small carpeted areas. Furnishings are standard tables and chairs and a couple of banquettes. The tables all had small vases with fake tulips in them. There’s a small room on the right containing a pool table. There’s nothing much in the way of decor worth mentioning, though I noticed the somewhat unusual addition of some printed flyers on the wall about several S&N employees. The most interesting thing about my visit was the music – some classic Stones tracks. This is another mediocre pub – not to be avoided, but certainly not worth going out of your way to visit.
