Royal Marine Inn, Yeovil

A Victorian back-street local. There are two traditional bars, one on the left has pool and darts, while the other has TV screens showing live sport, although the commentary was drowned out by the annoying jukebox, which seemed to fill the whole pub with noise. There is also a skittle alley at the back. The staff were friendly, and they host poker nights and occasional live music. The locals were benign. Only one ale on, Razorback, which was not well kept. Fine as a local, probably, but I wouldn't yomp back here as a first port of call.

Good small town pub far enough away from the town centre to allow a quiet pint of decent beer. Welcome is friendly, service very good as are the beers. Above average and worth searching out.
