The Bell Inn, Bicester

A traditional stone built village boozer which hasn't been too messed about with internally. A refurbished gastropub it isn't. Inside it is a comfortable, rural boozer with plenty of wood, floors, furniture and bar, a wood burner, books for sale at £1 into the charity box and a wide selection of board games. Food was decent and value but it's pretty basic pub grub. Steak nights on Monday to Thursday were advertised with a 10oz steak and half a bottle wine for £10. Four handpumps had on 2 ciders alongside Skinners Betty Stoggs and a decent Salopian Shropshire Gold. A solid bet for a decent pint and something to eat.
