The Bridge, Nottingham

Substantial, food-led, suburban pub. Large lounge / dining area. Smaller public bar with a pool table. Semi-modern furniture and decor. Beer garden to side. Three beers on handpump: Doom bar, Castle Rock Elsie Mo and a handwritten 'clip' for an unattributed Rudolph's Reward (£3.00). Not a lot of character left, but busy on a Friday evening.

The Bridge Inn has had a makeover and is now called The Bridge. The pub was named the Bridge after the brige which it is next which goes over the old Derby canal,now filled in and used as a walkway. This pub used to be an Home Ales tied house with a decent drink of Home bitter and mild on the bar. Once inside the pub has now been opened out but still retains a bar side and lounge side,the lounge side to the left is oblong shaped, this is the larger area,the seating is tall bench seating facing the bar,with normal tables and chairs to the far left,this area was full of diners. The room narrows in the middle inbetween each bay window,the bar side is a smaller square shaped area to the right with a pool table and darts board in it. There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Black Sheep bitter which was a decent enough drink,the other beers were GK Old Golden Hen and Doom Bar. The pub was very busy with drinkers and diners on my Saturday afternoon visit. Pub first visited early 80s Recent visit 11/1/2014
