Has the sort of town pub facade that makes you want to enter and have a look around. Inside, you find quite a large rectangular bar with further seating areas to front and rear. Side dining area down several steps. Basic furniture and plain decor. As a Green King house, IPA, Ruddles Bitter and Olde Trip (£3.30) from three of five handpumps. The Royal Standard is a nice old pub that is on a hill. Once inside there was one large room that was L shaped with a pool table at the back the lounge area was down a few steps,this pub is a Greene King tied house and there were three real ales on the bar we had a drink of Greene King IPA and this was not a bad drink the other beer was Abbot. This pub seemed quite old inside and it had old style opening hours it closed at 3.00 Saturday afternoon.
