Town Wharf, Isleworth

The downstairs bar was closed as would seem to be the norm. The first floor bar is split into two main areas, with comfortable seating consisting of well upholstered benches and back to back chesterfield type sofas through the middle of the main room. A small area at the far end is semi-seperated, and is a bit like a snug. Large windows let in plenty of light, and make the most of the aspect to the river. The decor, as one would expect, is mainly prints of river views. Various board games and dominoes are available for use. The outdoor terrace comes into its own on a fine day, and naturally also has great river views. It is nice to see that there is no need for plastic glasses outside too. The pub was however quieter than I'd expect on a sunny afternoon, but it is a little off the beaten track and will not get much passing trade. Sam Smith's OBB on handpump, £1.99 a pint. Is it me or is Sam Smith's nearly always served a little cold wherever you find it?

It took me a while to find my way up to the top bar (bottom was closed) and I have to admit to being shocked to find myself walking into a Sam Smiths pub as this is the first one I have been into out of London. SS pubs usually have some sort of wow factor about them and this one is no exception. A good looking 2 bar/2 floor pub with lovely views of the Thames from the large decked terraces. The barmaid was polite enough on my visit and the beer was very cheap, as you would expect. I'm not a big SS fan but this pub is well worth a visit, especially if the sun is shining.
