They had on Darkstar Hophead, Doom Bar, and St Austell Tribute (£2 a half). This is another pub that specialises in Thai food, although they do some more traditional dishes - e.g. Full English breakfast (served until 5.00 PM) at £6.95, and fish & chips at £9.50. The "British" menu page is so British that it has a photo of the late Sid James leering out at you. That adds a touch of class I think. I found the pub quite gloomy. OK, it was a very gloomy day, but the drapes and blinds covering the upper parts of the windows didn't help. There are now a few sofas and armchairs, but the furnishings are predominantly good quality tables and chairs. All the tables had a single rose on them as well as a candle of course. There are no fruit machines which is a big plus, but they do show Sky Sports on the large TV above the front windows. I also saw live music advertised - by Bad Girls Groove or something similar. I'm not sure what their target clientele is - on the one hand the furnishings suggest the lounge look (gilt framed mirrors, roses on tables, standard lamps, etc), and on the other the availability of Sky Sports, live music and the loud rock music that was being played when I was in suggest a sports/young person's pub. Perhaps they want to appeal to everybody - I hope it works for them.
