Decent exterior to this street corner pub with some smart tiling ,and the entrance lobby also had some original green glazed tiles.The interior is open plan with two raised sections giving views through the large plate glass windows.Wooden floors throughout .With menus on every table it does have the feel of a chain pub ,but the small central bar had a reasonable selection of national real ale brands with Doom Bar,GK Abbott and IPA,St Austell Tribute,London Pride and an ok Hogs Back TEA.Ale pricing wasn't cheap however.There were two large drop down screens ,and when BT Sport or Sky Sports is being broadcast,the atmosphere may be less calm than when I walked in at 10.30am.Sadly even at this early hour the muzak was still annoyingly loud. Functional without being memorable,it serves a purpose but as Rex says like a 'spoons but without their pricing.

The Goose is right outside Walthamstow Central station,so very handy if you want a drink before or after a long journey. Once inside this pub seemed quite smart in my opinion,the room is oblongish shaped with the bar facing,there is a raised area to the front right,the seating is a mix of tall tables and chairs and normal ones. There was a decent enough choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Hogs Back TEA which went down well,the other beers i noted were Doom Bar and GK Abbot. I quite liked this pub but it was fairly quiet and laid back on my visit before 11 am,it may well get busier later in the day and not seem so nice. Pub visited 21/3/2015

This pub could be much better than it is. When entering you could be forgiven for thinking that you'd wandered into a 'spoons, as it's exactly like one but without the cheap prices. There were several ales on - Pride (£3.15 a pint), Oxfordshire Ales' Marshmellow (£3.10) and Pride of Oxford (£2.95), and Clark's Classic Blond (£2.95). There were a couple of other clips labelled "out of stock" or something similar, thus also emulating the familiar 'spoons' "available soon". The usual pubco style glossy menu was on all the tables, with the "2 meals for £7.95" advertisd on a board. To be honest the prices here aren't bad even though they're not as cheap as 'spoons, although my Marshmellow wasn't in particularly good nick. This pub is handily placed next to Walthamstow Central Station, and it's facilities mean that it is a must visit location if you happen to be about to embark on a lengthy journey on the Victoria Line. This is a busy but conveniently placed high street chain pub, and certainly not worth going out of your way to visit.
