The former Bar @ TCR has re-branded itself as the TCR Lounge Bar. Modern furniture, partly laid up for dining. Sparse decor, with a few music TVs. A few pavement tables out front and a much bigger rear patio area. A solitary handpump on the counter, offering an overpriced pint of Doom Bar (£4.00).

This is a student type bar offering standard and premium lagers in an atmosphere of loud music and chatter. There are a couple of plasma screens that were showing the videos to the aforementioned music and there is a large projector screen on the back window that was showing a muted BBC News 24 feed. I had a pint of Guinness which was ok, although it was served in a Kronenburg glass, which was the first that came to the barmaid's grasp. I knocked my pint back in the smoking area which is a table and chair at the top of the fire escape stairs at the rear of the building. This is probably an ok place to go if you are a student, but those days are long gone for me now, so I'll not be returning.
