The Reed, Rochdale

Outside the front of the Reed is a part paved and part grass covered beer garden that houses a few picnic tables. During a recent Monday evening visit this area was being used by the adults whilst their children enjoyed the delights of the karaoke which was playing at an ear-splitting volume in a “disco” area to the left of the entrance. To the right of the entrance is a small seating area where a few aged folk were settled. Behind the bar is a pool table and beyond is a sunken conservatory with seating. Plasma screens for showing live sport are located throughout and live music/karaoke is advertised for Friday and Saturday nights, I bet it gets very lively. A standard keg range is available from the bar that also supports two hand pumps that were drawing Wells Bombardier and Wainwright. Food is available during the week between 11:00 and 15:00. I didn’t find the service to be very friendly and the atmosphere was just bloody mental. I’ll not be visiting here again.
