The Park Inn Hotel bar feels separate from the hotel and can be considered as a standalone pub. Seating is found along the front windows and then left of centre there is an island bar that is stocked with standard draught and an ale option of Bombardier on hand pump. Towards the rear of the pub are a pool table, dartboard and a jukebox that was playing some low background music. Out the back is a small covered decked seating area and beyond there are a couple of picnic tables on a tarmacked area that is surrounded by a waist high fence. Food is advertised with the pub grub mains coming in under £7, steak mains cost up to £15. The kitchen is open from midday until 14:30 Monday through to Saturday and from midday until 16:00 on Sundays. My visit was just after opening on Monday Last week when there were a couple of locals sitting at the bar and some mothers with buggies were sitting by the front windows. I found the service to be friendly, but the décor and ambience was pretty bland. The atmosphere is probably better on Saturday nights when there is live music. This pub is just across the road from Folkestone Central Railway Station so it is handy for a quick pint if waiting for a train, but in my opinion it is not a destination pub.
