The Estcourt Arms, Watford

The Estcourt Arms is a decent, two bar corner locals pub not far from Watford train station which is not to be confused with the Estcourt Tavern at the other end of Estcourt road nearer the town centre. It used to be referred to as Lynch’s after the long serving landlord and landlady of some 31 years who finally retired in May of this year. It’s one of only two Watford pubs in the 2010 GBG (the other being the One Crown on the high street) I haven’t been in for a few years but popped in again last weekend. Two beers on during my visit, and the Tribute was OK , but not up to the standard I seem to remember from previously. Hopefully that was just a blip, because this is a solid back street local and worthy of its GBG entry on the experience of my previous visits.
