The Volunteer Inn, Hereford

The Volunteer Inn, is located in a pleasant back street in Hereford City. From the first glance at the attractive exterior, you are compelled to venture within. The interior is not a disappointment, the character of the pub has been retained with traditional furnishings and just the right amount of object dart to feast your eyes upon. The character is further enhanced by the friendly bar staff, and the sights and sounds of contented diners enjoying their food. My partner and I, ordered lunch which was accompanied by ale, which was in good condition and the right temperature. At the time of our visit a few weeks ago, the ales available were Sun Chaser, HPA and Hobgoblin. After lunch, we relocated to the beer garden, which is partially decked and paved. Although The Volunteer may cater more for the dining customer than the real ale enthusiast, this fine establishment should be included in any pub crawl around Hereford.
