Although the clients might look a little rough, there a friendly lot. This pub has good beer good food and good music. If your into your live music this is one to visit.

Slightly in need of refurbishment, the Admiral Drake sits on its own plot just near the ferry terminal and has a large car park. It's a slightly wild pub, biker-friendly and both staff and clientele could be viewed as scary by some people. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, open and pleasant, although although there was some robust banter from a very mixed bunch of people (Dr Who would have felt at home here), so it's not a pub for the faint-hearted. They have regular music festivals, they tell me, so it would be interesting to come back for one of those. The beer was excellent. I tried Abbott, Hobgoblin and London Pride; all were beautifully kept and enjoyable. Great beer, great people, great experience, and I would happily come back when visiting the area or waiting for a ferry.

One rather dark large bar area, maroon & cream [or old nicotine stain], sort of 60s style Large TVs, fruit machines, normal pub fittings 4 Bitters on my visit, Brain's "Bread of Heaven" Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale & London Pride Said it does food but I saw no evidence of it, like menus I would think this is a locals bar and visitors would use the much posher looking Sovereigns nearby, which is what I will do in future
