ReviewAn honest boozer housed in a victorian building in a back street, it looks a little like a substantial suburban villa. Inside it has a large open plan room on two levels, traditionally decorated and furnished, it has the bareboards, open fires, and tongue and groove wainscotting of the style. The bar counter runs down the middle of one side wall carrying four handpumps and two T Bars, a fairly mainstream choice of ales, Landlord, Pride and Ringwood best but all in fine condition, the pub is a GBG regular, although the Taylors loses something in being served southern "sans sparkler". The fourth handpull has a cloudy cider, usual kegs on the T bars, the cider is Bulmers and the stout Guinness. The front area entering from the main door, with the pub's name set into the floor, is decorated with drinks advertising mirrors and a collection of whisky jugs and a big screen. The lower level, at the rear is a sort of games area with a pool table big screen and machines, this area is decorated with old photographs. Friendly sort of place with a mixed age range although maybe over 30s in the main. There is a garden at the back.
