Previously the Hogs Head, this is now one of GK's Meet and Eat chain, the Churchill is a down-market corner bar in a busy shopping street, one of the main roads through this area. The single large bar has a raised area at one side, hideous carpets and naff décor throughout. There are stained menus offering formulaic waste masquerading as food. There is free wifi, and there are various gaming machines and tv screens dotted around the walls. The pub is dog, child and moron friendly, just as well as these 3 categories make up the majority of the life forms present. The only ale on was GK IPA which was rather unenjoyable. It serves a purpose – a cheeky pint while the wife pops into the Waitrose opposite is a good one – but it really isn't worth seeking out for its own merits.
