As described by Soupy,below, this pleasant locals' pub is far enough away from the sea front to be devoid of grockles. The pub was comfortable, the staff were helpful, the regulars were chatty and welcoming. Ales on were Otter Ale and Bitter, plus there were two dry pumps. On keg were Guinness, Aspall's Cider, Madri,Carlsberg, Carling and Thatcher's Gold and Haze. A decent local that I'd be happy to revisit.

Locals' pub at the top end of town. There are 4 handpulls on the bar stocking Otter Ale & Bitter & Sharp's Atlantic. No guest beers were present on the fourth handpull on this occasion. Cider options on keg were limited to Thatcher's Gold & Haze.

Whilst this was a fairly average beer selection, there is good evidence that this pub is valued by the local community. One wall is full of pictures, with shelves above them containing plenty of sports trophies and shields, as well as a handpull. A blackboard to the right of the bar was promoting shots. Another was advertising "Fiver Friday" with quesadillas, nachos and hot dogs on sale for £5 between 5-7pm. Live music was also advertised and dogs are allowed in.

There were at least 4 TVs, which presumably cater for sports lovers. All were off on my early Tuesday evening visit. Pop music was playing instead. The wifi password can be found on the bar.

The exterior of this end terraced pub is of undressed stone, with cream brick around the windows. The was a beer patio

The interior is open plan but on two levels, with white texture wallpaper as the main decor. There was Sky TV, pool and darts. The service was fine and the clientele more mature. There were a few sporting trophies as decoratation, as well as other ephemera.

Beer; usual tap stuff, with Otter Ale, Bitter, Amber and Head on handpull, i had the Head as i hadnt seen it before, but it wasnt to my taste

Yes, i would happily try this place again, especially as it was a swift visit this time.
