Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Spyglass & Kettle

Greene King pub / restaurant constructed for the expanding suburban sprawl of the Medway Towns. Anyway, it now has a large L-shaped arrangement of various seating and dining areas, all with a bland corporate look, but it still has a pool table and dartboard. However, there was a slight surprise as there were two Kent Brewery beers - Session Pale (£4.90) and Harlequin - featured on the four handpumps in addition to Old Speckled Hen and a Lilley's cider.

E TA left this review about The Spyglass & Kettle

A Green King pub in one of Medway's more affluent areas, knocked through to form a single large bar mostly for diners. It was built in the 1950s as part of the move of the population out of Brompton, the original licences belonging to two pubs called The Nelson and The Steam Engine (hence the odd name). There is a large car park. There is a mix of carpets and bare boards, and the decor is unremarkable. Staff were uninspiring, and what little character this pub had 30 years ago when I first visited has now vanished. Food was reasonably priced, though portions were a bit meagre and it was nothing to get excited about. Two ales on, I had Olde Trip, which not in the best condition. OK for a quick lunch if in the area.
