A good and traditional back street boozer with a fair selection of beers. On a Saturday lunchtime it was doing a fair amount of trade and felt welcoming, with good service. Several Wantsum beers on offer and the 1381 was a good session beer (NBSS 'Very good'). The stay was fairly brief due to the approaching kick-off time and the walk to the ground. Easily the best of the three GBG pubs in Gillingham.

Battered-looking backstreet pub in a battered area. Leans fully into its theme with a pair of exterior frog motifs, a green (and white) painted interior and rather wonderful bespoke froggy carpet. Knocked-through inside with a traditional feel; a jug and bottle collection, upright piano etc. The darts set-up is excellent with runway and an electronic score board. GBG listed with a couple of ales on over 5 which weren't shifting and I ended-up with a tepid and pedestrian half (I called it right) of Wantsum Hurricane (NBSS 2) with Parkway being the other choice. Shame about the naff ale quality but it’s hard not to be charmed by the pub, the froggy carpet is worth a visit by itself. 6.5

Good Beer Guide Tick in Gillingham and the only one of the three that you will find open after 6pm on a Sunday. Although it does itself close at 8pm.
Located in a maze of terraced housing streets, it has an outdoor garden and a collection of rooms around a central bars.
Tanners Brewery Box of Frogs was well kept and a decent session beer.
