E TA left this review about The Market House
Recently reopened after a major overhaul, this high street Palmer’s pub now has an open, airy atmosphere and feels more like a modern cafe bar than a traditional local. The downstairs rooms have been made open plan, there is now more seating and the bar counter is in the centre on one side. There is also covered seating outside on the footpath. There are snacks available as well as coffee and cake, so it feels a bit Continental from that pint of view. The staff were cheery and helpful, exhibiting patience when dealing with grockles and empathy with drinkers. On cask were 200, Tally Ho!, Copper, Dorset Gold and First Press, while the keg choices were Dorset Pale, Cruzcampo, Moretti, Guinness, Orchard Gold and Orchard Haze. A huge improvement and now one of the better choices in Bridport, definitely worth including in a crawl.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Royal Oak Inn
The Royal Oak is in the middle of Bridport and close to the shops.
Once inside here the pub looked very trendy with one large room with a dance floor at the back, the bar was to the right and i thought there would'nt be any real ale on here but as this is a Palmers tied house there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Palmers best bitter which was very nice the other beers were Bridport bitter and Dorset Gold.
: Note this pub is now called The Market House.
