Old Boots left this review about Haltwhistle Comrades Club

A club set up like many others after the First World War by returning servicemen and still going today unlike neighbouring clubs in the village. Nicely modernised in club style, there is the normal variety of rooms found in clubs. The main bar is through to the rear right with a rear mounted counter, there’s a big lounge with darts off to the left and more rooms upstairs. Three handpumps are located at the far end of the counter, two in operation with Hadrian and Border beers in good nick as befits its number of Camra awards and continued Good Beer Guide presence. Surprisingly excellent beer condition for a mid week lunchtime visit in fact. The few other punters were on lager, Guinness or shorts from the two short T-bars, nothing remarkable to see there. The punters were glued to the screen on daytime TV, the piped music was mainly Motown or 1960s hits and where I was sat the sound system was excellent so none of my usual complaints.
