No cask. Keg offering of Peroni, Neck Oil, Guinness, Cornish Orchards cider and Lucky Saint.
Pleasant hotel bar. Wooden block flooring with bar counter in space near reception and faced by leather banquette sofa supporting regular tables. The sea facing bar counter was closed but the tables in that front bar were operational, indeed the bar counter this side had comfortable leather stools that could be turned round to face the sea. An outside terrace at the side of the bar counter was, not surprising, super popular on eclipse evening, even though that was a bit of a damp squib. Of all the high-end Bournemouth hotels of my childhood, this one feel like it has maintained a bit of a premium element.
