A modern cafe bar on the ground floor of the former Royal Navy Clarence Yard logistic barrack block, this is a single room establishment. There is seating at the front by the harbour, though the harbour wall restricts the view a bit. As it’s food-led, the room is mainly full of tables laid out for diners, and there is no space for drinking at the bar. We noted that if the toilet door isn’t shut properly there is a full view of the toilet bowl and anyone sitting on it from some of the tables. The barmaid we first encountered wasn’t that friendly, scowling when we asked what time they closed, though the barman was much more welcoming. The other customers in were a couple of locals from the converted flats in the same building and what looked like a rather lacklustre mature hen party. No dogs were in, though they did have dog treats on the bar. No cask ale or cider was available, though the keg range was fair, consisting of Grolsch, Guinness, Orchard Pig Reveller, London Pride, Meantime IPA, Asahi and Peroni. It’s fine for lunch or a thirst-quencher if you happen to be in the adjacent Marina, though it’s not the best bet in walking distance and their opening hours are limited.
