Strongers . left this review about The Pub at Powdermills

Crafted at Powdermills is a ‘life friendly’ hotel to the southwest of Battle where there’s a public access pub and restaurant called the Pub at Powdermills. It’s a nice walk to the pub past a stream and lake from the pub’s car park found to the left off Powdermill Lane, but it’s a bit of a walk down, and back up, a sloped woodchipped path, so I’d suggest anyone not steady on their feet should be dropped outside the pub rather than walk from this non-hotel guest car park.
The pub’s entrance opens into a narrow bar with an L-shaped copper topped serving counter that faces a couple of high tables and a tiled fireplace with log burner to the left and red banquettes with tables and green upholstered stools across the rear wall. On the back bar is an etched Guinness mirror and Ireland bunting was still up from the Six Nations. On the bar are eight craft keg options including a cider and a couple from Brixton Brewery, the accommodation prices start from £300 per night for ‘cosy’, so this isn’t a cheap place. There was some background music playing in the bar, and some muzak playing in the garden and conservatory that are accessed via a centrally located door on the rear wall. Out here are covered brick floored and exposed brick columned seating areas, one with walls and windows and one open to the elements. Both have views over a lawn, and a small swimming pool with sun loungers at the rear. I visited due to the large sign on Powdermill Lane advertising the pub, but now I’ve been I’ll not be returning.
