Will Larter left this review about The Wild Alderman
This very old building is a former restaurant, right next door to the Olde Cock, but now repurposed as a pub with a fairly large dining room - likely in a modern extension - behind the centrally placed bar. The front rooms look as though they would like you to order some food too, but it's not as in-your-face as in some dining pubs, and we were made very welcome for our beers after a walk around the slightly waterlogged Fletcher Moss nearby. There were three beers on hand pull, all from Bear Town in Congleton. My pint of Kodiak was pretty good (NBSS 3.5) while my walking companion had a zero alcohol lager; other keg options were listed on a blackboard. Although I discovered this pub entirely accidentally, it would be worth walking to from Didsbury, or even a bus or tram ride from Manchester if you were feeling adventurous.
