Sitting hidden away in a small industrial estate behind some high density housing, this is a small micro brewery with its tap room in the same shed. We walked past it twice before finding it, but we eventually noticed a light from the open door. The L-shaped drinking space has a concrete floor and a collection of school-like benches and long tables, crammed together so walking around is difficult and getting to the bar counter involves navigating these. Four of their beers were on draft, mainly dark beers, but their Pizza Planet pale ale was a good counterpoint and was a pleasant pint if a little too chilled and definitely expensive. They offer various snacks including large tubs of pork scratchings from a local butcher, fresh pizzas and, occasionally, barbecue food. It was a friendly place, cheery staff, pleasant customers, but at the end of the day it was still just a shed with brewery plant in it, and there beer isn’t enough on its own to bring me back.
