Something of a non-event, this poorly refurbished former bank branch calls itself an hotel, but in reality it is more of a rather awful 1970s-style canteen with laminated floor and cheap furniture. The single bar room has too many tables to be comfortable, and there is no room to stand at the bar. Customers were mainly elderly and infirm, and the barmaid was completely clueless. No cask ale or real cider, just Guinness, Korev and Aspall’s cider. Really not worth the effort.
