Captains is a fish and chip shop that also sells alcohol to maximise profits from its prominent location in amongst the beachside bars of Brighton. The only people inside, during a recent sunny Saturday afternoon visit, were queuing for the toilets across the rear wall. The queue stretched across the serving counter, much to the annoyance of a waitress who was trying to get a drinks order. On the beach out front is a large, decked area that was packed mainly with drinkers, the wait was quite long for a drink due to the table service, and toilet queue blockade. Yes the beach is a nice spot for a premium lager, but out of season I imagine the bar pretty much closes and this place becomes just an overpriced fish and chip shop.
