A cafe bar on a corner by the cathedral school gateway, a square room with exposed brick, lots of windows, with a mix of eclectic decor and oddball furniture. Fresh flowers and some fresh fruit on the tables plus plants, cushions and big clear windows make it girl friendly, as the clientele proved. Beer wise there’s an excellent choice of proper European beers, Spaten and Paulaner among them. Lots of wine obviously and the spirits are tucked away in glass fronted cabinets. The crisps are from Tayto and the staff are extremely pleasant, I liked it and think it’s worth a visit unless you’re a dyed in the wool real ale purist or MCP.
