Rex Rattus left this review about The Sun Wharf (J D Wetherspoon)

I suppose that visiting 'spoons in London Bridge on Saturday afternoon isn't the best time to judge a pub. It was absolutely heaving when I visited at about 11.45 on Saturday morning, to the extent that finding somewhere to sit was a severe challenge (although I was looking for a table to seat five), and seating for two at one of the tall tables was available. We ended up sitting in a room immediately adjacent to one of the entrances, which was not carpeted and with the vaulted ceiling and numerous footy supporters standing around the noise was awesome. At another time it might be more comfortable, but with the footfall along Tooley St and from the station I guess it will always be fairly busy.

This is a labyrinth of a place with numerous drinking areas, and I quite liked the look of it. Interestingly the guest ales here were £4.64 a pint, compared to £5.14 at the 'spoons Lion and the Unicorn at Waterloo. Obviously the beer and food were typical of a 'spoons. I don't think I would recommend this pub as somewhere to meet friends, but as somewhere for a swift one before a train it certainly fits that bill.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Sun Wharf (J D Wetherspoon)

Recently opened Wetherspoon pub underneath the platforms on the northern side of London Bridge station (in a site once occupied by the London Dungeon). Unusually for such locations, you don't really notice the railway arches above except by the entrance, but they do force a subdivision of the space into relatively small seating / dining areas so it certainly doesn't feel cavernous. Duplicated selection of Redemption's Kazbek, Windsor & Eton Guardsman and The Naked Ladies from Twickenham (£4.54) in addition to the inevitable Greene King IPA, Doom Bar and Abbot on the two banks of six handpumps on this visit. Very handy for the station.

Situated in the former London Dungeon, the front of the pub uses the high arch beneath the railway lines, full of standard issue spoons furniture and some seating booths but doormen on both entrances on a Saturday post match, friendly at least. It gets more interesting further back with the ceiling height reducing, small internal arches splitting up the interior and then the bar runninmg along the back wall to the left side.Lots of exposed brick, trains rumble above the bar.
Two ranks of six handpumps but although the guest selection to the left were all clipped a notice said all these ales coming shortly which I absolute hate, minus one point. The other rank of pulls featured the trio of doom and a single guest in Lancaster Atlas ,unexciting NBSS 3.Another minus point.
Maybe it's early days but on this evidence I see no reason to return.London Bridge is short of great ale houses and sadly Tim & Co. have not filled the void as yet.
