Old Boots left this review about Hoc Loco
An odd bar with a yogurt knitter vibe, it sells mainly wine, beer in bottles and cans from the fridge opposite the rear right counter. It also has a shiny box keg dispenser with two beers, “Lighthouse Hells” and “It’s Bitter” from unlabelled breweries both in the £5-£6 range for a pint, my lager was over carbonated and over chilled for my tastes. The drinks menu is on a brown paper roller or pages of brown A4 stuck on the wall. It’s a small shop conversion with the front windows at an angle reducing the available space of the corner location. A mix of seating although elegant and the décor choice of chocolate brown and taupe with gold highlights is unusual but it works, a different ceiling of wooden square holes with dangly big shaded big globe lights also looks cool. It narrows towards the back by the counter with bar blockers making a trip to the rather nice lav’ a slight pain. There’s big clear windows with smiley faces as branding, it all sounds very girly friendly and it’s run by a nice lady called Emma. Why I wonder was it full of blokes, albeit slightly hipster, with the odd woman, baby and dog, on my Friday evening visit, although it got more mixed later.
